b) Permanent Resident Visa
Best for people who:
 Want to live indefinitely in Mexico or forever.
 Retirees with a qualified income or savings.
 Have close family ties to a Mexican citizen or permanent resident.
 Have already held a Temporary Resident card for 4 years.

2. Life in Mexico Services will help you apply at a Mexican
Consulate Abroad
Before you move, you must start the process at a Mexican consulate
(outside Mexico).
You’ll typically need:
 Valid passport.
 Completed visa application form.
 Passport-size photo.
 Proof of economic solvency (bank statements, pension, or
income proof — requirements vary by consulate).

 If working: a job offer letter from a Mexican employer registered
with INM (National Migration Institute) (proof of home office work)
or ask for a period to find a Job offer, leave the details to us.
 Payment of consular fees.
3. Finish the Process in Life in Mexico
Once you arrive in Mexico with your visa, you have 30 calendar days
to go to the INM (Instituto Nacional de Migración) and exchange
your visa for a residency card.
Steps inside Mexico:
1. Submit application at INM.
2. Provide fingerprints and photos.
3. Pay government fees.
4. Receive your Temporary or Permanent Resident Card.
